Dear Community Leader,
As a result of the Affordable Care Act, Rhode Island has an historic opportunity to extend coverage to more than 140,000 individuals, families and small business employees. Our state can continue to be a leader in access to affordable, quality health care, but we need your help to reach the many diverse people and populations that make up the Ocean State.
The Rhode Island Health Benefits Exchange will depend on partnerships with local community-based organizations to help consumers learn about, apply for and enroll in health insurance coverage. Although this new way to access health insurance won't open until October 1st, we need to start planning now.
If you or your organization is interested in spreading the word about the Exchange, helping people sign up for insurance, or a little bit of both, we want to hear from you. Please fill out the Contact Information form so we can build an extensive list of potential partners in the community.
Filling out the form only indicates your interest in getting involved, there's no obligation to work with the state.
October is less than 200 days away, so we'd love to hear from you as soon as possible. The Exchange will compile an initial list of interested partners by April 20th but will continue to collect contact information for months to come.
Please email the form to Angela Sherwin, Assistant Director at angela.sherwin@governor.ri.gov. Angela can also answer can also send any questions or comments about this letter.
We're trying to reach as many community partners as possible, so feel free to forward this letter to your contacts.
Thank you.
